Best overall book on getting started with this techology This book covers just about everything you need to consider/understand/learn before getting started with GIS technology. And it’s not biased towards any particular vendor, which is good. The book is up-to-date and has been a proven guide over time for many, many people. For a general intro to GIS, this is a start My job currently requires me to be fully trained in the area of GIS. My company has done an outstanding job with buying materials, software, training courses, and books to provide support.
