Great alternative to windshield/dash mounts I ordered this item looking for an alternative to the large suction-cup-type mounts. I have a smaller car, and windshield/dashboard space comes at a premium. Additionally, a lot of the suction-cup-type products come with a gel membrane to help them stick better, but leave bad oil stains on the interior of the car. So far, the Mountek nG6000g has been the solution to all of these problems.The product is extremely straightforward to use: it inserts into your CD slot, and is secured by tightening the screw that expands the top and bottom flaps. The flaps that go into your CD slot are a little less than an inch long, so there should be no worries about accidentally tripping your CD motor. A couple notes about installation:- Be careful not to tighten the screw too much – just enough to secure it in place during driving. VERY WELL DESIGNED GPS MOUNT!! I purchased this Mountek nGroove 6000g in Nov. 2014 for installation in my 2013 Altima. I was some concerned about the CD slot installation; however the many positive reviews were reassuring. I first installed it with the thumbscrew on the bottom, clipped on my Garmin 52LM and was pretty bummed with a blocked view of the radio. However, I removed and reinstalled the mount with the screw on top and have very nearly full view of the radio screen and NO blockage of any controls. In attached photos you will see the slight blockage of the time display in the top right corner.I use the GPS infrequently but find the mount plenty secure, just some slight flexing when using the touch screen. Maybe I should torque the screw a bit more. The unit swivels to optimal view angle for the driver or to the right for my wife/navigator viewing which is mainly, it seems, watching my speed!However “Moose” cannot view the screen at all. :-)Someone wrote…
