    NO VOICE NAVIGATION or REAL DIRECTIONS! – consider Garmin Nuvi 2X89 or 2X99 lines (way better & potentially worth the extra $) I can see the initial appeal of the Garmin Nuvi 55 & 65 models. They have some big limitations compared to their higher trim siblings, but at least the price is right. Like all of the Garmin two-digit numbered models (and a few of the four-digit models), they do not let the driver communicate with the device by voice (i.e. “voice navigation”, or “voice activation”); these models also do not have “Garmin Real Directions” (Garmin “Real Voices” is different, and not nearly as useful). But some of the other two-digit models are nearly as expensive as the four-digit models and basically seem make zero sense to buy; in contrast, the 55 & 65 prices are a lot lower (currently less than half as much), so the appeal is more clear.But here is what I think you should consider before you decide to buy any of the 55, 56, 65, 66 models.VOICE NAVIGATION adds considerable value from a safety perspective, because it allows you to avoid…
